Not a competitor to a curry aficionado, however, a handy cheat recipe nonetheless. In a pinch, you can forgo most of the spices and just add garlic and butter.

Makes approx. 8 portions. Approx. calories 367 per portion.

Ingredients

3 jars of Indian curry sauce (I used a balti, jalfrezi and tikka masala)

400g of beef mince

400g of beef stew meat

2 tsp of chopped garlic

2 tsp of crushed ginger

1 tbsp of butter

3 curry leaves

1 tsp of cumin

1 tsp of garam masala

1 tsp of tumeric

1 tsp of mustard seeds

4 cardamom pods (remove once cooked if possible)

Method

Add all ingredients to a slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours, then on low for a further 2. Lovely with rice and poppadoms.
