There are some days you need a good cheat recipe.
Those are generally when you don’t have time to spend ages in the kitchen, or you’re just too god-damned tired.
Nonetheless, you still need to pull a firm favourite out the bag. This is a good recipe for these days.
I personally recommend Tesco Frozen Mash – it has a lovely buttery flavour. An amazing cheat tactic, a quick side for emergency situation’s, when you don’t have the time or energy for real mash. Great for novice cooks. Serves 2.
2 braising beef steaks
1 cup of frozen casserole veg
3/4 pint of red bisto gravy
4 cups of frozen mashed potato
Combine meat, veg and gravy in slow cooker. Cook on high for approximately 5 hours, then low for 2 hours. Microwave mash as directed. Voila!
Easy, peasy, satisfying comforting dinner – very little dishes.
Always a winner in my house.
